Being an Entrepreneur is about innovating and creating something that million of people will use, but it is also about delivering services to hundreds or even dozens of people. There is no specific definition to what an Entrepreneur is or does, but what we know he/she must do is innovate and create new business opportunities.

Entrepreneurs are the leaders of the modern world. They are those who see further standing on the shoulders of the people who have previously innovated. They are part of this huge cycle of innovation that will never stop. I believe the best thing you can achieve in life is saying the sentence: “Yes, I am an Entrepreneur”.

The best thing that an Entrepreneur has is independence, which incidentally is something that you can reach by only being an Entrepreneur, a self made man. Entrepreneurs are free to do whatever they want, they are free to seek their dreams and build what they have always wanted. Independence is something everyone should look for, but it doesn’t always happen.

Being independent also means being alone, or just working with one cofounder, and facing the whole market which is ready to accept, copy or destroy you. It can however be the best thing that you have achieved in life, because you don’t have to answer to anyone and are free to create whatever you want whenever you want.

I understand why people look for a secure, professional and highly paid job. They are probably scared of the world, they might not have the time to try to startup, they might have financial reasons; but even those of them who have all these problems, should try in their spare time to reach independence. It’s not about being richer, freer, or having a CEO role. It’s about knowing who you are and what you can achieve in life.

Although it can be scary, difficult or intimidating, an Entrepreneur must always be positive, Jonathan Messika gave us this tip, when we interviewed him, for Young Entrepreneurs who are facing the problems of a startup:

Stay positive and remember that “obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal” (Henry Ford)

There are plenty of people who get a job after University, but there are also plenty of them who try to start a business while they are working.

Be one of them.

That’s our advice, find an idea, a project or even something small and start producing whatever you want. It might be a small shop, an app, a website or even a gadget.

It won’t make sense at first, but after you have set up your business all the dots will be connected and you will be able to see the bigger picture. In that moment, you would be able to say: “Yes, I am an Entrepreneur”.
