10 Songs That Make Me Code

As a Computer Science student there are often those moments in which I have to sit in front of a laptop and program. Although it should be an interesting thing, since I am studying Computer Science, it’s usually a little bit painful. That’s why I use music to distract myself and keep coding without looking at the clock. In particular, there are 10 songs that make me feel on top of the world while I code, blog or chill.

Programming is about being focused on what you are doing, not losing the logic of your code and to keep coding. The math is simple, but it sometimes occurs that when you are trying to code something, you are surrounded by dozens of people who are doing something else. That’s why the vast majority of programmers use noise cancelling headphones or listen to music.

There are those who listen to classical music in order to see the patterns within the code and others who like music in general. However what I usually listen to while I am using Sublime is club music. It doesn’t help much with concentration since it gives you a lot “outputs”, but it’s a good way to feel on top of the world. I’d probably say the following video summarise the feeling of programming with this music:

These are the top 10 songs I listen to when I code.

#1 Levels - Avicii

#2 Greyhound - Swedish House Mafia

#3 Don’t You Worry Child - Swedish House Mafia
