On the 12th of September, Tim Cook will hold a press conference and he will finally show to the world, one of the most expected mobile phones of the last twenty years, the iPhone 5. It is going to be a big day for Apple, the most valued company in the public market.
What we wonder is if the release of this new iPhone will push $AAPL shares to $700 or they will fall down, killing all the market expectations. $AAPL during the last period, thanks to the rumours of the upcoming iPhone 5 and of a possible iPad mini, a seven inch tablet, has kept growing day by day, becoming more valuable from a market capitalization point of view.
Now it’s time to see if all these rumors are true. We believe that the iPhone 4S was a transition device, which was able to keep up Apple’s revenues while this company was developing THE device. In fact the iPhone 4S was not a big announcement and the updates weren’t so astonishing as we expected. This is one of the reasons that suggest how big the iPhone 5 should be.
Further the transition between the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 4 has been huge, so if the iPhone that Apple will announce on the 12th is a 5, well we should expect something big, something that will shift the entire iPhone paradigm into a new environment. Another interesting factor is that Apple took its time.
Although Samsung released its Galaxy S3 three months ago in order to anticipate the iPhone 5 with a world wide marketing action, Apple didn’t seem to struggle, they just kept going, looking for the 12th of September. This could mean two things, Apple wasn’t ready to launch the device before the Galaxy S3 or Apple feels comfortable with the product and it is well anticipated success. However all this anticipation didn’t stop the losses in the latest quarter in terms of iPhones 4S sold, due to the upcoming device.
Just one day separes us from the iPhone 5, we are counting every second and we are going to do it for the next twenty-four hours, because we believe tomorrow Apple could show us what Innovation really means.
