The new episode of Angry Birds is coming. It will be available on March 22nd in the App Store, but today we are talking about the Announcement of the game made by NASA. In fact Rovio Mobile and NASA have been working together to launch this game that will be settled in Space in a zero gravity system.
In this video that you can watch below, Don Pettit, a NASA astronaut from space, presents “Angry Birds Space”. Although Programming and Physics are often two different concepts, this game has provided NASA a good opportunity to spread a strong concept in Physics, which was studied four hundred years ago by Galileo, gravity.
In fact the Astronaut is able to shows us the trajectory of the bird in a zero gravity system. As most of you would expect to see, the bird should have a trajectory pretty close to a parabola (as in every Angry Birds game). However the bird, with an initial force, thanks to the absence of external forces goes straight. This is a simple and short demonstration of what Newton was able to understand three hundred years ago.
