We had to do it, his time has come, someone asked us to nominate him as the best entrepreneur in 2013, but we didn’t. Aaron Levie is an american entrepreneur. He’s the Co-Founder and CEO of Box. Levie and his Co-Founder Dylan Smith incorporated Box in April 2005 and later received a seed investment from Mark Cuban.

More than 20 million people and 150,000 businesses use Box today. Since it was founded the company received $409M in investments, from a first seed investment to a series F. The company acquired the first three companies out of four just last year and it counts more than 950 employees. In the past year Levie has been able to exponentially grow the enterprise side of the product, reaching the 97% of the Fortune 500 that now are using Box.

Levie also takes his time to invest. He invested in several companies such as Stripe, Highfive and Hightower. Levie’s company is not profitable yet, but he aims to reach profitability by 2018. There is still a long way and a lot of investors are waiting for returns. Even though Box is small compared to Dropbox, which was founded three years later, the company’s focus is completely different to what Dropbox tried to achieved at first. That’s why they still have a market, enterprise.

An interesting thing about Levie’s life is that he works till 3.30am in the morning and he wakes up at 10.15am. After that he’s constantly one the wave to achieve Box’s mission. The guy is just 28, but it seems he has been in the market for the past thirty years. Life is not easy as an entrepreneur, you just need to manage your time in the right way.
