Ron Conway was and still is one of the best angel investor in Silicon Valley. He was the founder and managing partner of the Angel Investor LP funds. His investments include Napster, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Foursquare, Twilio, Paypal, Pinterest, Snapchat and Medium.

With a bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the San Jose University, Ron Conway before becoming an active angel investor worked with the National Semiconductor Corporation, Altos Computer Systems, as a co-founder and CEO and Personal Training Systems. Ron has also been featured on Gary Rivlin’s book The Godfather of Silicon Valley: Ron Conway and the Fall of the Dot-coms, described as ‘the man who has placed more bets on Internet start-ups than anyone else in Silicon Valley.’

One of the most interesting stories told in the interviews we feature below is when he was throwing a party with all the companies he had invested in and other people from Silicon Valley. At that time, the stars of the party were the co-founder of Napster, Shawn Fanning and Sean Parker, and in a corner there were two insecure co-founders who were looking at those two with admiration, they were Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

Every year, he’s one of the speakers at the Startup School, the annual conference held by YCombinator. As he says in the 2013 interview, he has always invested in people not in ideas.
