One day after Uber raises $1.2 billion and expects to raise $200 million later on at a $17 billion valuation, this sentence states a point that we have been making for years. Entrepreneurship means Tech or in a more explicit way, Tech is Entrepreneurship. There is no reason to think Entrepreneurship without technology. From the guy who’s selling razors to those who are trying to replace eggs, they are all using the power of technology to achieve what they believe in.

When we usually refer to the figure of an entrepreneur, we think about a person who’s innovating by using creativity to build interesting things.

In the last twenty years, the Nerds have understood the power of the word Entrepreneur and shared what they were building for themselves with everyone. After having made fun of Nerdy people, we have started living in an era where being Nerdy is cool; it’s not just about being smart anymore, but having the skills to increase your power and influence people’s lives.

When we say that Entrepreneurship means tech, we want to underline that there is no other sector that is more entrepreneurial than the technology one. The amount of risks that thousands of people take every day, the innovation that arises, the creativity behind tech products are worthless life experiences that can be lived only in the tech industry.

In the next few years, we are going to live on the internet and every single object will be online, so the past forms of “Entrepreneurship” will be dead.

What is remarkable and truly reflects the way the tech market is entrepreneurial is its distribution. Everyone can be a tech entrepreneur, it’s just a matter of learning how to code and start building something. You don’t need any money to start being a tech entrepreneur, you just need to start doing instead of talking.

The amount of opportunities that are arising are limitless and this is probably the best period to jump into this market wether you have an architecture degree or are working in a bank. It doesn’t matter, people don’t want to know what your background is, they want to see what your idea is all about. There are dozens of people who have started without any technical background or left University because they were wasting their time without doing something substantial.

The way knowledge is accessible today doesn’t stop anyone to grab a book or learn a programming language online. It’s not a matter of opportunities anymore, but the willingness to do it or not.

If you still think you can be entrepreneurial without touching some code or getting your hands dirty on your keyboard, you are wrong. The cool kids are now on the other side of the river, building things for the humankind, and you should join them too.
