A few days ago Julian Assange spoke from the Ecuador Embassy in London, Uk. In the past two months the founder of Wikileaks has been living in the embassy looking for political asylum, which he has received. A young and small latin american country has showed to the world how much brave can be. Without listening to Sweden, United Kingdom and USA, Ecuador has decided to respect the international law and to give political asylum to Julian Assange.
This is a victory for all of us and for those people who have been attacked in the past months due to the irresponsability of the modern political figures. Bradley Manning and Kim Dotcom are just two mere examples of what an unpredictable and irrational country can do. For this reason, what it has happened in the past days is definitely a victory.
Julian Assange needs to be transferred to Sweden in order to be investigated about the rape of two women, but this is not the point. Before sending Assange to Sweden, this country must sign a treat in which establishes that Assange is not going to be extradicted in the United States, a country which has nothing to do with an australian journalist. Until Sweden doesn’t do the first step, it is right to keep Assange in the Embassy.

For those of you who are skeptical about the figure of Julian Assange, I want to remind you what Wikileaks has done in the past years. This was the only organization to show to the world classified materials, which underlined the insgnificance and the absurdity of the war in Afghanistan, pointing out the deaths of thousands of civilians. They are the ones who every day discover things that Governments don’t want us know. They are freedom fighters.
The current situation has caused the beginning of a new Anonymous Operation, #OpFreeAssange. The Anonymous group is willing to keep going its Cyber World War against authorities and governments, that do not stand on the side of their citizens, but on the side of their own interests. This was the case of Julian Assange and Bradley Manning who has been imprisoned in the United States for more than 800 days without a trial. This is not justice, this is far beyond what a correct and democratic state does.

The Anonymous has just started to target down a few Uk sites such as justice.gov.uk, but we know that this is just the beginning of a series of DDos, whose aim will be to point out that Assange should be a free man, according to human rights. Until Sweden doesn’t understand this little detail, the cyber war will keep going without a stop. This could be ended in a matter of minutes by signing a simple statement, but the pressure of the United States is too strong to let the Swedish do what they should do.
In many ways, the world, as we know it, is not fair, there is no right for minorities and when visionaries try to change the way it works, there is always someone in the backstage who tries to block and stop those visionaire ideas that are going to change the world.
However Governments and Politicians have not understood this little detail: “We do not forget”.
